Dad comes home from work where his young daughter asks him to tell her a story, A Christmas Story. In the next few minutes dad explains the symbolism of evergreens and candles as well as the origin of Santa Claus. But mom interrupts to say they need to eat so they won’t be late for the planetarium show.

The planetarium show within a show begins with a tour of the winter constellations before examining the historic references in the Bible surrounding the birth of Christ leading to a reenactment of the triple conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in 6-7 BC. The show concludes that it is not clear what the ‘star’ might have been, but most important is the message of Peace on Earth.
