After over three years since launch, the unmanned MESSENGER spacecraft
is on approach to the planet Mercury, making its first pass on January 14,
providing our first clear views of the little planet since Mariner 10's
visit in
1974. MESSENGER will only fly by Mercury this time, but will enter orbit
in 2011. Keep an eye on the official MESSENGER web site for the
first images!

Sudekum Planetarium
The Sudekum Planetarium is currently
closed!
We are in the process of building a brand new, state-of-the-art Sudekum Planetarium, which will
open in summer 2008. We will continue updating this site regularly, and monthly star charts will continue!
We're also posting regular updates on the construction of the new planetarium and Sky and Space Wing, including photographs and time-lapse movies!
